Yoshimitsu Yamada was born on 17 February 1938 in Tokyo. His father, Ichiro, was an academic professor, and his mother, Michio, took care of his home. The father's family was related to Abe family and, when as a child Ichiro lost his parents, he was adopted by them.

Haruyoshi Horikoshi sensei (7th Dan of Aikido Aikikai) was born on March 23, 1945 in Manchuria.
He began to study aikido after entering the Hosei University in 1965. While practicing aikido in the university group, he started to attend Hombu dojo and was taught by O’Sensei, his son Kisshomary Ueshiba sensei, shihan Arikawa Sodateru and shihan Kobayashi Yasuo. After graduating from the university in 1969, he was employed in the company manufacturing construction equipment. During all subsequent years he proceeded with aikido practicing with shihan Kobayashi Yasuo, was studying also Iaido and Jo-Do (Shinto Muso ryu).

Yasunari Kitaura, a graduate of the Waseda University, Tokio, and the doctor of sciences of the Madrid University, being the art historian, is at the same time a shihan, the holder of the 8th Dan of aikido Aikikai and a direct student of the style founder Morihei Ueshiba and his son Kisshomaru Ueshiba.

Nobuyoshi Tamura was born on March 02, 1933 in Osaka, Japan. His father was the Kendo teacher well known in Japan.
