About IEAAF
International Euro-Asian Aikido Federation (IEAAF) is a membership-based non-profit voluntary association, created to protect common interests and achieve statutory goals and objectives aimed at the development and popularization of Aikido.

The IEAAF is the all-styles federation, i.e. its members could be voluntary associations developing different Aikido styles.

The USSR Aikido Federation was established on October 27, 1990 (Registration Certificate № 0188 dated July 19, 1991[1]). Sergey Kiselev was elected the President of the USSR Aikido Federation, Vladislav Rukavishnikov was elected the Secretary General of the USSR Aikido Federation.

The model for this organization was the Leningrad and Region Aikido Federation, which from the very beginning had been organized as the all-styles Aikido federation. Successful work of the Leningrad Federation illustrated the advantages of different Aikido styles representatives' joint work. There was no confrontation and opposition, but there was cooperation, agreement and mutual enrichment of knowledge, which corresponds to the basic postulate of Aikido - the union, harmony and love.

The USSR Aikido Federation brought together people, who practiced Aikido in different Republics of the USSR. When the Soviet Union broke apart in 1991 and the Republics became the sovereign states, these centrifugal tendencies did not touch the USSR Aikido Federation. Today we are the only federation of the former Soviet Union federations, which has kept its composition. We continue to work harmoniously together, despite formation of borders and border posts. That is why we changed only the name of the federation. Since the newly created states (namely the former Soviet Republics) are geographically located in Europe and Asia, it was decided to rename the USSR Aikido Federation into the International Euro-Asian Aikido Federation. The official IEAAF establishment date is July 5, 1995 (Registration Certificate № 3055[2]).

Today the IEAAF unites 12 representatives of 15 former USSR Republics, namely: Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Georgia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan. At the moment there are no Aikido organizations established in Armenia, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan yet, but interest towards Aikido already exists there and now representatives of these states are forging relationships with IEAAF.

The President of the IEAAF is Sergey KISELEV, 5-th Dan Aikido Aikikai, the Secretary General of the IEAAF is Vladislav RUKAVISHNIKOV (4-th Dan Aikido Aikikai).

IEAAF has been arranging public training courses for Aikido instructors based on the Academy of Physical Education and followed by issuing Certificates of Instructor. Legal advice services for instructors and coaches have been organized.

The IEAAF holds such important events as seminars, festivals and sports events. Representatives of all parts of the former USSR and other foreign countries attend and participate in these events. Methodiological work with couches is conducted. All individual IEAAF members get a uniform Budo-passport, regardless of the country where they live. Regular certification of those who practice Aikido and relevant documents issuance are organized.

The Central office of the IEAAF is located in St Petersburg, address:
Obvodny Canal Embankment, 123 b
