Tornado Prize Winners
The National Aikido Council of Russia[1] was founded in July of 2005 and is consisting of three main organizations having their goal to develop Aikido and propagate it in our country. The NACR was founded by:

Aikido Aikikai Federation of Russia[2]
All-Style Aikido Federation of Russia[3]
Aikido Federation of Russia[4]

The main objectives and purposes of the Council foundation are consolidation of the experience and efforts for popularization of Aikido in Russia, regulation of the process of the Aikido development in Russia, assistance in improvement of the professional qualification of Aikido instructors, intensified activities to ensure the social protection of Aikido practitioners and trainers, as well as propagation of ideas of physical culture, health strengthening, healthy way of life, development of harmonized personality among the wide masses of the population.

President of the National Aikido Council of Russia was elected Sergey Kirienko - Head of the Federal Agency for Nuclear Energy of the Russian Federation, Co-Chairman of the Russian Union of Martial Arts[5] .

Vice-President of the National Aikido Council of Russia was elected Sergey Kiselev - President of the International Euro-Asian Aikido Federation, President of the All-Style Aikido Federation of Russia.

Chairman of the Executive Commitee of the National Aikido Council of Russia was elected Nikolay Egorov - President of the Aikido Federation of Russia.

Provision on the annual prize of the National Aikido Council of Russia "Tornado"

Article 1. Objectives and purposes of the Prize

The Prize of the National Aikido Council of Russia shall be granted to promote efforts bent to the development of Aikido, demonstration of the beauty, harmony and peaceful power of Aikido, its further popularization in Russia, promotion of the mass development of martial arts, propagation of the healthy way of life.

The festival shall be instrumental in achieving goals as follows:

  • Attraction of young people to Aikido practices
  • Improvement of the professional skills of Aikido trainers and amateurs
  • Improvement of methods of Aikido teaching and training
  • Winning consideration of governmental and public organizations, mass media and business communities for martial arts in general and Aikido, in particular.
