“White Nights - 2010” Festival

Seminar of Stephane Benedetti in Elista
| On May 6 – 8, 2010 the 12th annual seminar of Stephane Benedetti (6th dan Aikido Aikikai), a student of Tamura sensei, the head of “Mutokukai Europe” will be held in Elista, the capital of Kalmykia. The seminar is scheduled and arranged by Kalmykia Aikido Federation and Tamura sensei’s Russian office. You are welcome to take part in the seminar!

| The All-Russian action “The power of word”, carried out with participation of the Russian Union of Martial Arts and the Union of Russian Journalists, launched in St. Petersburg. The action was aimed at ensuring the safety of journalists in the performance of their professional duties. The first practice session was held on March 24, 2010 in the Integrated high sports school under the direction of Valeriy Skrylev, President Aikido Federation of Saint-Petersburg. From March to November 2010 is planned to hold a series of professional trainings, master-classes, consultations for media professionals with participation of high quality experts in the field of martial arts and psychological crises.

National martial arts “Golden Belt” prize-winners
| The 5th National Martial Arts “Golden Belt” has been awarded. The 5th National Martial Arts “Golden Belt” was held in the State Kremlin Palace on March 22, 2010. Famous sportsmen, politicians, economists and businessmen visited the ceremony. The heroes of the day were the prize-winners i.e. well-known masters, teachers and all those who daily contribute to the development of martial arts in our country.

Meeting of Executive Managers of RUMA
On March 22, 2010 in Moscow there was an all-Russian meeting of executive managers of branches of the Russian Union of Martial Arts. They discussed the goals, results and new aims in their work. St. Petersburg branch of the union was acknowledged as one of the best.

Kancho Shioda Yasuhisa seminar in St. Petersburg
| St. Petersburg Yoshinkan Aikido Center holds international seminar on Yoshinkan aikido conducted by Kancho Shioda Yasuhisa, son of Gozo Shioda, founder of Yoshinkan aikido and one of the best students of Ueshiba Morihei. The seminar is scheduled to take place on April 16-19, 2010. The program includes 10 training classes (including 2 classes with participation of children), master class for black belts, attestation for black belts. The venue of the seminar and the participation fee to be precised.

Standard aikido programme
| For the attention of trainers and heads of aikido clubs: “Standard Training Programme for Institutions of Additional Education” (written by A.B. Kachan, A.G. Dorofeev, A.V. Chufistov) was edited and published in 2009. The programme is intended for aikido experts who work in the additional education service of the Ministry of Education of Russia, children’s and youth physical training clubs, children’s and youth sports schools and social organizations developing martial arts. The programme consists of a regulatory and methodological sections and practical materials. The regulatory section contains standards and laws of institutions of additional physical and sport education. The methodological section contains materials on types of training, control and educational work. The programme (87 pages, print run 50 copies) is sold in bookshops of Moscow. You can also send us an application for this publication (contacts). Please indicate the required number of copies, your postal address, the recipient’s first name and surname. Your applications received by March 15, 2010 will be forwarded to the draftsmen of the programme. They will consider publishing an extra edition and sending the publication cash on delivery.
