Report on Stephane Benedetti seminar in Elista

The 12th traditional aikido seminar led by Stephane Benedetti took place in Elista, the capital of Kalmykia. The seminar was included in the list of the republican actions devoted to the 65-th anniversary of the Great Victory. It was attended by more than fifty aikidoka’s from nine cities of the South of Russia.

At the opening ceremony Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, Head of Kalmykia, the FIDE President, and Vyacheslav Namruev, Mayor of Elista, congratulated participants with the seminar’s opening and the Viktory Day. They noted a stable development of aikido in the republic and the old ties of friendship between sensei Benedetti and Kalmykia.

As usual a friendly and warm atmosphere reigned during the seminar, and in the street there was a real summer thirty-degree heat.

Stephane, as always, conducted trainings cheerfully, with his inherent humor and pedagogical gift, proved to be high quality methodologist. The master has arrived from Moscow in a good mood and it was kept throughout the seminar.

Organizers believe that next year the seminar will pass even better, even more cordially and with a larger number of participants.
